ABOUTNamgyal Institute of Tibetology is a premier institute that does research in Tibetan culture and languages. The premises have a library and museum. The foundation of the institute was laid down by the 14th Dalai Lama in 1957. It was inaugurated by Late Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru in October 1958.
ENJOYThe museum located on the ground floor has collections of many rare statues, coins, paintings & embroidery works. The institute also provides a sneak peek into the ancient manuscripts. The library is located on the first floor and has one of the widest variety of Tibetan documents and literature that one can find.Also located within the premises is a gift shop and original Baker’s Cafe from MG Marg.
