Surrounded by 13 hill peaks of Aravali Range, Kumbhalgarh Fort is counted among the 5 hill forts of Rajasthan. The monument was declared as UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2013.
The fort was built by Rana Kumbha in the 15th century. The fort was designed by a renowned architect of his times – named Mandan.
Located on the top of the hill that was surrounded by the forest, the fort provided a strategic advantage in the old times. However, today it offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the forests and deserts in the region.
The fort houses many important buildings like Badal Mahal, Kumbha Palace, Jain Temples, Baoris, Chhattris and Water Reservoirs.
