MP Orchha Lakshmi Narayan Temple 01

One of the 3 important temples in Orchha, Lakshmi Narayan Temple is dedicated to Goddess Lakhsmi – the goddess of wealth and prosperity. The temple was built by Raja Bir Singh Deo during 17th century and was reconstructed in 1793 by Prithvi Singh. It is built with an exceptional blend of temple and fort architecture. The entrance of the temple is built in the shape of an owl, which is the vehicle of Goddess Lakshmi. The paintings and carvings on the walls are an exquisite depiction of Mughal and Bundela art. The temple also offers a panoramic view of the Orchha town and forests surrounding it.
