Naggar literally means the Learned Man. Naggar, located at 1851 mts ASL on the banks of River Beas, enjoys extensive views. Naggar remained capital of Kullu till 1460 AD. The palace at the Naggar is now a popular tourist spot. Naggar Castle (now rest house), Jagatipatt Temple, Tripura Sundri Temple, Nicholas Roerich Art Gallery and Gauri Shankar Temple are worth visiting
