Humayun’s Tomb was the inspiration for the creation of The Taj Mahal in Agra. The tomb was built in 16th century and houses the body of Humayun (2nd Mughal Emperor). The tomb was the first of its kind in terms of Mughal architecture in India, and was followed by numerous constructions by the Mughals in the subsequent period. The tomb, surrounded by well manicured lawns, is a serene and captivating sight.
