The temple’s origins are steeped in fascinating mythology. It is believed that Lord Brahma, while seeking a suitable place to perform a grand yagna (a ritual fire sacrifice), dropped a lotus flower from his hand. The petals fell upon three places, creating three sacred lakes, with the primary one being Pushkar Lake.

However, a legend also tells of a curse by his consort, Goddess Savitri, which decreed that Lord Brahma would only be worshipped in Pushkar. This divine proclamation makes the Jagatpita Brahma Temple an incredibly rare and revered destination for devotees from across the globe.
