What to See at Mandore Garden

• Royal Cenotaphs (Chhatris): Unlike the typical dome-shaped cenotaphs, these memorials are designed like grand Hindu temples (shikharas). Built from red sandstone, they feature four stories, well-defined columns, and exquisite, detailed carvings that are a masterpiece of Rajput architecture. The largest and most famous is the soaring cenotaph dedicated to Maharaja Ajit Singh (built in 1793).
• The Hall of Heroes: A large, rock wall that is carved with colorful statues of 16 different Rajput folk heroes and Hindu deities. This rock-cut gallery honors the valor and legends of the region’s warriors. The figures of local heroes like Pabuji and the intricate artwork carved from a single stone are a must see.
• The Shrine of 33 Crore Gods: A unique temple that pays homage to the countless deities in the Hindu pantheon. The walls are adorned with bright, vivid paintings and images of various Hindu gods and goddesses. Do not miss the vibrant and comprehensive display of Hindu mythology and spiritual artistry.
• Government Museum: Located within the gardens, this museum displays a collection of artifacts, sculptures, old relics, and paintings that provide a deeper historical context to Mandore and the Marwar kingdom. An excellent stop for history enthusiasts to view remnants of the bygone era.
• Mandore Fort Ruins: Situated on the hill above the gardens, the ruins of the ancient 6th-century Mandore Fort offer a sense of the former strategic capital and provide a quiet spot with panoramic views. Explore the remnants of the thick fort walls and high rock terraces.
